White House Declares President Trump’s Brain MRI “Perfectly Normal” Following Preventative Scan

Washington, D.C. – The White House has released a brief medical statement asserting that President Donald Trump’s recent brain MRI results are “perfectly normal.” The scan, described as purely preventative, was conducted as part of routine executive health monitoring, according to the president’s physician.

The two-sentence update, issued late Tuesday, reads: “President Trump underwent a preventative MRI which showed perfectly normal results. No further testing or follow-up is required at this time.”

While the White House offered no additional details about what prompted the imaging study, sources familiar with the matter say the president himself requested the scan after experiencing what he described as minor, transient headaches during a busy stretch of travel and public events. The headaches reportedly resolved quickly and were not accompanied by neurological symptoms.

MRI scans of the brain are highly sensitive tools capable of detecting strokes, tumors, bleeding, demyelinating diseases, and age-related changes such as white-matter lesions or cerebral atrophy. In a 78-year-old individual, minor age-appropriate findings are extremely common; radiologists frequently describe such scans as “normal for age” rather than “perfectly normal,” a phrase that has raised eyebrows among some neurologists who reviewed the wording of the statement.

The release comes amid ongoing public discussion about cognitive health and aging in America’s highest office. During the 2024 campaign, both major candidates (Trump, 78, and Vice President Kamala Harris, 60 at the time) faced questions about mental sharpness and medical transparency. Trump has consistently touted his physical and mental stamina, often citing previous annual physicals that declared him in “excellent” health.

The White House stressed that the MRI was precautionary only and that President Trump continues to perform the full duties of the presidency without limitation. When pressed by reporters aboard Air Force One about whether the full radiology report would be made public, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt replied, “The president has been more transparent with his medical records than any modern president. The key takeaway is there is absolutely nothing wrong.”

Neurologists not involved in the president’s care noted that the phrase “perfectly normal” is unusual in medical reporting for patients in their late seventies, but emphasized that without seeing the actual images or report, no clinical conclusions can be drawn.

As of now, the White House has not indicated whether a more detailed summary of the president’s 2025 physical examination will be released in the coming weeks, as has been customary in previous years.
